NEW MEMBER GUIDE
If you are a new member, it can be tough. You might be asking, what do I do now that I have joined? How do I join a clan, or post a forum, or roleplay, or change my username? We will cover all of that.
If you haven't already, we strongly advise that you see our rules. This should cover all the dos and don'ts and give you some knowledge about how to have a good time on the site.
Please feel free to message an administrator if you have any further questions.
PICKING A CLAN
Our site currently has a total of seven different living clans to choose from. You can see them on the Clans page. You can read short descriptions for each of them to find out which one suits the type of character you want to create.
JOINING A CLAN
Due to the lack of active staff, our joining threads are closed, but you are free to roleplay in any clan you like. We just ask you to create your own character thread. Characters must still abide by all rules.
I. Decide which clan catches your eye. Maybe you like SunClan's traditions, or ReedClan's unique swimming abilities, or VenomClan's ability to survive in the harshest snow storms.
II. Look at the joining threads and clan pages. Some clans have specific rules for your character. Follow the guidelines.
I. Based on the clan guides on the joining thread or page, base your character on that. Some clans have more traditional fur colors and lengths, and might give you an idea of what your character will look like.
CHARACTER CREATION
I. Give your character a name that suits them. You can base it on their appearance. For example, if your cat is black with white flecks, you might name them Snowfreckle. Or you can base their name on their personality or a feeling. As long as the name occurs in nature, it can be anything. Don't name your character something like Fastcar.
II. If you are having trouble coming up with your own character, you can adopt one here!
& BIOGRAPHY ANATOMY
A character's biography is usually simple to make when it is cut short, but making a complex and creative one can be somewhat difficult at times if your character is undeveloped.
A biography gives detail about a character's appearance in a few sentences. What does your cat's fur color look like, what is the length? What is their eye color? Do they have any markings or scars that set them apart from other cats?
Move on to describe their personality. Is your cat quiet, or friendly and passionate, or maybe aggressive? Is there a story that goes behind what made them into the cat they are? Do they have any special skills, or do they enjoy anything in particular? Does your cat have a family?
Once you're finished with their history, you have a simple yet creative biography that makes them the character they are.
EXAMPLE BIOGRAPHY:
Warriorheart is a large tom that carries himself with heavy pawsteps. He has short black fur with a scar that stretches down his flank and he has dark blue eyes the color of deep water. He was born to Fatherpool and Mothercloud, his littermates are Sisterfoot and Brothertail. More often than not, he gets along with his siblings, but being a cat who often finds himself preffering solitude, he doesn't often converse with them, or many other cats at that. As a kit, he was always considered shy, feeling as though he was in the shadow of his siblings. Warriorheart is a particularly talented fighter, but he usually spends his time swimming in ReedClan's hot springs. One day, he dreams of settling down with a mate and having a family of his own.
ROLEPLAYING GUIDE
I. First, go to the roleplaying forum here.
II. You may join an open thread in any clan that you have a character in. You can simply reply by clicking on the thread title and you can create a comment.
III. You can make your very own thread in any clan you have a character in. Create a title for your rp thread and start writing in the box.

& OPEN AND CLOSED RP
I. OPEN threads: signifies that anyone from that clan or another clan are welcome to join the thread.
Thread title - open (or) clan name
II. CLOSED or PRIVATE threads: signifies that only certain members are welcome to reply.
Thread title - closed (or) private (or) username of person you are roleplaying with.
&. EXAMPLE RP
Warriorheart sat at the edge of the water surrounding ReedClan. He leaned back in order not to cast his shadow over the lake to keep fish from scaring off. A small fish flashed its scales in the sunlight. Warriorheart dipped his paw in and hooked his claws into the slimy flesh and tugged it onto the sandy shore. He turned to the fish. The creature flopped and fought for water. He offered it a quick bat of his paw, killing it instantly. He brushed it aside and watched the water again, hoping to catch a glimpse of more prey.
Forums are where we post threads. There are different categories or each. We have general discussions, roleplay, contests, events, games, and more.

Roleplay category has separate categories for joining and other important links for the clans.

"Create a Discussion" will bring you to a page where you can create your own post.

If you are creating an open thread for anyone to join, you should specify which clan you are roleplaying in within the title.
If you are looking to roleplay with one or more specific people, you can list the forum as private in the title, and in the comment space, type "@" followed by the person's username.
You will find posts you have created under "forum posts" on your notifications page (the bell in the upper right hand corner.) In order to get notifications from other members, you must be following them.

CLAN POSITIONS
If you are new to the site, chances are you are either going to begin with a kit or a warrior. Most of our clans have special roleplay positions. They hold no real power other than title and usually have some importance to the clan. For example, BreezeClan has three different types of warriors; strikers, hunters and diggers. They also have prisoners and prison guards.
Here, main positions are divided into two groups; leader and medical. Leadership positions include leaders and deputies, and medical positions include medicine cats and their apprentice. One person can have both positions at once if they can handle it, but they may not have any more than one of each position at a time unless it is necessary a role be filled temporarily.
SITE POSITIONS
REGISTERED MEMBERS: Registered members are the mass of the site. You will have this role when you first join. You are free to post forums, but you don't have any special abilities.
OFFICIAL: A member with this title is given a job, mostly given to trusted and responsible members. Their job is to greet new members, show them the ropes, and watch over other member's posts to make sure no rules are being broken. Former moderators will be demoted to this position and given a senior official badge to display if they wish to.
MODERATOR: A moderator usually comes with a clan position, such as a leadership position. They have the ability to delete forums, but it is not allowed unless a forum is in dire need of deletion.
ADMINISTRATOR: The admins are the "top dogs" or technically cats, of the site. They hold no more value than that of a registered member, but they do have special abilities, like editing site pages. They are split into separate jobs. Communications Manager, Entertainment Manager, Activity Manager, and Directing Manager. Admins do not have to have any special positions, or even RP if they choose not to. Their main job is to maintain the site and make sure it stays safe and active for our members.
DIRECTOR: The director is the creator of the site. This position can only be obtained by the creator, or passed on to an admin under them if the decide to leave the site. They have slightly more range than an admin does, though they work on the site just as an admin would.
Moderators and Administrators are considered staff members and must follow the rules, especially staff rules.
HOW TO: OBTAIN POSITION
I. The best way to obtain a high rank, whether it is in a clan or on the site in general, is through showing your activity. You should post threads, reply to threads frequently, and show you can be responsible.
II. Along with showing your activity, you may try out for a position. This can only be done if the clan has a position that needs to be filled and try outs are made by the staff.
